Guiding Scripture: Colossians 3:2-3 ‘Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. ‘

🔴 The Enemy of the Mind Part 3

Truth- genuineness, honesty, truth, but not merely truth as spoken; the truth of an idea, reality, sincerity, truth in the moral sphere, the divine truth revealed to man, straightforwardness.

In ancient Greek culture, 225(alḗtheia) was synonymous with “reality” as the opposite of illusion, i.e., fact.]

*Strong’s Greek Concordance

God’s Word helps us deal with temporal affections. The things that will not last or encourage growth are in opposition to Christ. We have the power to give our thoughts over to God and deliberately create new mental patterns. With intentional focus, prayer, and meditation through Christ, we can put on our new selves.

Admit to Repent

I am a sinner. I lusted, over consumed, was greedy, lazy, angry, envious, and prideful. Colossians 3:5 – Therefore, put to death what is earthly in you. (Colossians 3:5-11)

After I loosened my grip on seeking approval from the world, I could completely repent and allow God to begin changing my mindset. We are responsible for the things we entertain and to obey God’s command to love.

 The Healing to Obedience.

Our sinful ways will try to hold us back from embracing the newness of God. The spiritual attacks may seem to increase; however, we should be mindful of the consequences before we give credit to the enemy. God does not let go of us, but we can forget He is near. When we are frustrated and tired of repeating the same cycle of failure, punishment, or self-loathing, God is there to show us a new way. (Colossians 3:5-9)

Resolve.

Fasting helps control my flesh (sinful tendencies) and temptations. The clarity I’ve experienced from fasting and praying is so pure and completely satisfies my soul. My help comes from the Lord (Psalm 121:2). Decide to do things afraid and faithfully submit to your journey with our Lord. Allow God to help you in your disbelief as you walk with Him.

Remember, we are never alone. Don’t be scared or ashamed to cry out for help even when others want to hush you. (Mark 10:46-52)

Prayer: Father, we know that you are merciful and forgive our iniquities. You have not destroyed your servants. Even though we look to the world for our security and worship false gods, you restrained your anger. Lord, we thank you for your grace and mercy. Please help us abide in You. Amen
