A Daily Purpose

Bible Study & Devotional (Day 146)

Read Today’s Passages (May 26, 2022)

Guiding Scripture: John 15:5-8, 5 “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. 6 Anyone who does not remain in me is thrown away like a useless branch and withers. Such branches are gathered into a pile to be burned. 7 But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! 8 When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.

🔴 Do It With God

Contributing Writer: Joshua Slaughter

Apart from God, we can accomplish nothing. Quite a grim outlook. Some people think that they can achieve things without God. But their definition of achievement is illogical.

It may be an accomplishment in your eyes, the world’s eyes, but to God, it’s defeat. Perhaps you brag and say that you do all things in your strength in your worldly victory.

God doesn’t want us to do things alone or feel like we need to.

He gave us this life. He gave us the ability to breathe, eat, walk, and function. If you take God away, what remains? Nothing. You are an empty husk blindly following the patterns of society. You’re individualism, peculiarities, and intricate details destroyed. I certainly don’t want my life to be like that. I need my life to be one of improvements. Not only do I want to take pride in my accomplishments, but I also want God to be pleased.

God prepares and equips us to be prosperous, but He doesn’t promise it will be easy. The wonderful thing we can expect is joy, a feeling that cannot be taken away.

Spread the word of God and do it with a happy heart.

Prayer: Dear God, you embody perfection, and we will strive to be like you. Thank you for allowing us time to spread your word. Amen.

  1. Joshua, kudos to you! Well done. Keep up the good writing skills. Truly we must rely on God’s Holy Spirit residing in us to be able to accomplish anything. Having a relationship with God is so important and just as He command us to have a relationship with each other. What a blessing! Love agape, Grandma Diana
