Working With a Smarter System (Podcast Episode)
Talking on Purpose with Torrie
👋 Hey Purpose Talkers,
Today we briefly discuss the S.M.A.R.T system attributed to Gary Doran. (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, Timely)

Here are your notes to begin your journaling process:

Clarity: Do you know what works best for you? We all have responsibilities that presently need our attention. With your obligations in mind, take control of your approach to them.
Scott Reed wrote- “This one step—choosing a goal and sticking to it—changes everything.”
Organize: Do you use a calendar? If not, I want to offer this quote from Maria Robinson, “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”
Whatever you started doing but didn’t finish, it’s ok. Begin now and get help if possible.
Will Durant wrote – We are what we repeatedly do.

4 Ways to Implement a Smarter System

1. Strategize with God! Sit down and lay everything before Him. Let God establish your plans.
2. Break your day into bite-sized pieces. Don’t try to tackle massive projects all at once. Set your phone timer or alarm remain intentionally focused.
3. Books, Music, and Podcasts centered on the areas you want to develop. Podcasts are free to listen to and provide a wealth of knowledge.
4. Stop being reactive in the morning. Give God praise and adoration before picking up your phone to check messages, emails, or other notifications. Be proactive by aligning with God’s purpose for your day.
