This year Our Given Purpose® is focused on dealing with the root of our anger, arrogance, pride, and fear; through testimonies, interviews, devotionals, and unique collaborations.
Let’s prepare to strip down, humble ourselves, and do the work:
♦When we put on the new self, we will recognize self-sabotage and self-deprecating tendencies. We will understand how our thoughts affect our behavior, which impacts the circumstances of our lives. When we put on the new self, we will learn how to love others as God loves us and love ourselves in our brokenness. We will practice being present before the Lord in prayer, asking for His direction, clarity, and the assignment that will fulfill the purpose He has for us.
When we put on the new self, we will ask the hard to answer questions that we have avoided. We will write our feelings out and get vulnerable with God. When we put on the new self, we will acknowledge the guilt about making our lives what we wanted it to be and instead submit to God. We will open communication with others through prayer and work in unity.
When we put on the new self, we will take responsibility, commit to making continual change; we do not want to be the same person we were last year. Our lives and circumstances will require a different skillset as well as the ability to react more maturely spiritually. We will seek wisdom by educating ourselves through God’s Holy Word and other sources that are edifying to our spirits. We will set goals and actively pursue our commitment to God every day by honoring Him. Reflect and have compassion for ourselves. The kindness we give others will vibrate through our consciousness. The beginning of this process is internal evaluation and a mind shift toward renewed thinking. That thinking is attached to a result of holiness. We can come up with a system for our daily life with prayer, practice, and direction from God.
