SHOW NOTES:
www.OurGivenPurpose.com

Start at the beginning! Elements of Anger (12-Week Session)

Hello, People of Purpose!

🎶Reunited and it feels so good. We’re back ladies and gentlemen with a brand new series dealing with arrogance and pride! Thank you for supporting, praying, and continuing to share this content. God is great, and He is sovereign over all.

What can you expect this season? We have several interviews, collaborations, and numerous audio dramas featuring Ruby & Onyx! Season four is going to uproot more of our faulty behaviors and till the soil of our hearts. This year we are committed to decluttering useless thinking! Planting seeds that have the opportunity to grow, mature, and produce good fruit is the goal. Yes, 2020 is a great year! We can get busy clarifying, organizing, and preparing for things to come!

The Message:

Anger, Have We Overcome It Yet?   We begin this session with a brief recap complete with valuable tips to move us forward. Let’s combat inertia with strategic planning!

Take Action

As you listen to Anger, Have We Overcome It Yet?  I pray you will journal and keep your Bible close. As you react, think about what you are feeling and use the Bible concordance to look up that specific emotion. Three steps to gaining control over Anger or any emotion. We do this by first creating a routine with God. Second, visualize Anger. Reflect by writing down how we behaved and what we thought when under stress. Finally, ask what you can learn.

 ~Torrie

Did you miss ‘Elements of Anger’ the 12-week Series? Start at the beginning! Are You Big Mad?

Hello, People of Purpose!

We at Our Given Purpose® are committed to providing uplifting and transformative content on these platforms we believe God is in control and submit to His will. We understand that means facing difficulty; however, we have the benefit of having God’s peace reside within our being. As you go throughout your day, please be aware of those who are struggling, perhaps financially, spiritually, or physically. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in your actions. We can be kind and compassionate, as well as cautious. Lean into the Holy Spirit, be still, and know that God is.

The Message:

Friends How Far Would You Go? This podcast originally aired on January 8, 2019. It serves as a reminder of how we can trust God for everything we do.Planning with God and checking in to be updated is WOW! Wisdom Over Woes! We can avoid possible hiccups if we check in with God. Eliezer was almost detained in bringing Rebekah back to Canaan. He had already given gifts of gold and silver. He was ready to leave the next day and return home. But Genesis 24:55-56 says, “But her brother and her mother said, “Let the girl stay with us a few days, say ten; afterward she may go.” He said to them, “Do not delay me since the Lord has prospered my way. Send me away that I may go to my master.”

Take Action

As you listen to Friends How Far Would You Go? , I pray you will journal and keep your Bible close. As you react, think about what you are feeling and use the Bible concordance to look up that specific emotion. All relationships require effort. They need time, planning, and sacrifice. Whether it’s family, friends, or co-workers, we have to plan that time and what we gain or give to those friendships. If you think about your closest friends right now, what do you have in common? How did you meet? How did you bond? Think about your immediate relationships and the mirror effects they have in your life.

 ~Torrie

Scriptures in this episode:

Genesis 24:1-67

 Journal Prompts:

  1. What kind of friend am I?
  2. Can I follow through on impossible promises?
  3. Am I able to see beyond my feelings and give grace?
  4. Is God the focus of my heart and mind?

8,000 Miles to Uganda, The Evolution of Transformation with Mike LaFleur

Hello, People of Purpose!

We are in week nine! Thank you for committing to this process and for your emails, messages, and sharing this content with your friends! It would help us if you would leave a review or rate us on Podchaser. Thank you in advance for your continued support!

The Testimony: I am excited to share this warm and friendly conversation with Mike LaFleur. He is a self-proclaimed regular guy trying to scrape by. Mike is a husband, father, military veteran, and earns a living in the software industry. As a congregant at All Nations Community Church, he and his wife are serving God in an impactful way.

The Topics:

Mike shares his missionary experience from 2013, which was a step in surrender to God’s grace and mercy. Through a series of events, Mike realized there was more beyond the surface, and the people of Uganda left a lasting impression. As he opens up about his life, I hope you connect and reflect on your activities. Ask yourself what moments have changed you for the better and how you have continued to cultivate the wisdom God gave.

The Session:

As we continue to work through our anger, I pray we will become better equipped to act according to God’s intention. What do we need to look beyond? Can we find the similarities instead of focusing on the differences?

~Torrie
