More about Kendra Dublin~

Kendra Dublin is a millennial strategist, author, and speaker. Her latest offering is a book titled The Resistance is a collaboration of 13 stories of personal transformation. Kendra’s first published works include God’s Perspective For Me Vol. 1 and 2 both critically acclaimed works are a collection of poems that are spiritually uplifting. Together they tell a story of becoming a Christian, falling into the trap of the world, then coming back to God and listening to His words.

It was through this process of listening and moving that Kendra rediscovered her purpose and is now a phenomenal advocate to walk others through their process.

Through her own self-examination, Kendra discovered the pitfalls others fall into and created another platform within her growing conglomerate. 

She is currently developing a few other books for a 2021 release. Kendra is a contributor to the online magazine “Beauty & The Gospel” based out of Johannesburg, South Africa.

Kendra is one of the co-founders of the “Feed You Purpose” brunch for young adults. She has spoken at various events such as Ladies Days, youth, and young adult conferences. Kendra was a member of the Carolina Christian Toastmasters group which assisted her growth as an inspirational speaker.

Who is Derek Preston:

Derek is from Lynchburg, Virginia. One of his many talents is meeting people from all walks of life and making them feel unique. His artistry, both written and performed, provides his audience a glimpse into his psyche. He has met the acquaintance of several celebrities, including all the members of New Edition. Derek is a humble yet ambitious man of many talents, and his legacy will live. 

The Interview:

We are meeting Derek as a young man who can utter the words “those were the days” and not get smacked. LOL! Derek and I got sidetracked many times during this interview, which is just how we roll. However, to keep the context and focus pointed toward the goal, editing became useful. (You’re welcome)

He shared how he patiently waited to meet Johnny Gill and other stories of celebrity conversations. I have jokingly said Derek Preston is the Kevin Bacon of Virginia and beyond. If anyone plays the game, six degrees of separation, you understand. As we talked, I noticed that there is something more beneath the layers that Derek Preston possesses. His heart. Derek is kind to a fault and has the unique ability to make others feel good about themselves. While his word of purpose is legacy, I must note that ‘animate’ would be another. If you’ve ever seen Derek dance or perform, you have had the pleasure of seeing his spark come alive.

We are proud to air our third interview in season four, focusing on arrogance and pride. In our conversation, Derek shares how arrogance has served him well.

The Interview: The Interview: This conversation was such a joy. Lisa and I met by happenstance on social media, and we became fast sister friends. Her podcast episode titled  It Starts in the Mind: Taking Thoughts, Captive caught my attention. We refer to her episode throughout the beginning of today’s interview, and I pray you will take a moment to listen. 

The Topics:

Lisa and I discuss her family, Christian experience, and various responsibilities of being an entrepreneur for Christ. Lisa’s background as a  freelance writer, coupled with her love of God, created an opportunity for her to spread the Good News uniquely. By making God our priority, we can be led by Him to those who will guide us.

The Session:

As we come to the end of this twelve-week session of Anger, I pray we will become better equipped to act according to God’s intention. What do we need to look beyond? All of us are packaged creatively by our Lord, and that can serve as an opening for a conversation.
