Psalm 37:32-33 The wicked lie in wait for the righteous, intent on putting them to death; 33, but the Lord will not leave them in the power of the wicked or let them be condemned when brought to trial.

🔴 DON’T FRET THE ELECTION

Why are you as a believer fretting about an election? Don’t you realize that things in this world are only temporary? Yes! It is our civic duty to vote, and we should take this right to vote in all elections as a privilege and with gratitude for those who fought, bleed, and died for us to be able to vote.

God is the ultimate authority!

Romans 13:1 Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.

Since humans decided that they wanted judges, then kings, instead of God, no one has or will be satisfied with the outcome. Some leaders follow God, while others have sought to do evil. The only true and just ruler is God. Because this world is not the eternal home for believers, we are settling for less than the best regardless of who leads here on earth.

Once you have voted, trust God’s control for the results and His plan to live your best life for Him. God knows your heart, desires, and needs, and He is quite capable of fulfilling them all.

Let’s pray: Lord help us to be still before you and to wait patiently for you; keep us from fretting when people succeed in their ways as they carry out their wicked schemes. Please help us refrain from anger and lead us from the wrath not to worry because it only leads to evil. Continue our hope in you, Lord, so that we will inherit the land and so that the enemy will not destroy us. Increase our faith and wisdom as we give our total control to you. We worship and praise you, Lord. Amen

🔴 Didn’t I Tell You!

How many times have I got to tell you that you are not driving this car or any other car before you get your driver’s learning permit? So we think that we can get around that direction by getting the car keys just to let the car get cool or perhaps to let it warm up. We start explaining how we didn’t want Mom or Dad to get into the car in the cold or while it was so hot outside. I’m taking driver’s education classes, but they won’t be over for another month.

I know that I can drive, so what I’m going to do is wash the car, and when I need to do the other side, I’ll back it out of the driveway and turn it around to clean the other side. Big BANG!!!

But Mom, Dad, that truck came out of nowhere, and I believe he was speeding, I don’t think that it’s my fault!

I’m not even going to bother mentioning all the other “Didn’t I Tell You!” directions. I’m sure you have a few of your own. “Didn’t I tell you to take out the trash – clean your room- do your homework before playing a game- and on an on. Didn’t I tell you?!”

Now comes the punishment! Repayment of the damages – seems like currently, I’m working for someone else. Privileges are gone! And the worst is that I’m going to have to wait even longer before I get my permit. Disobedience has consequences, some harsher than others.

What does God say about obedience?

“But I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you.” (Jeremiah 7:23).

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” (Galatians 6:1).

“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.” (Colossians 3:20).

Trust and obey your parents and God if you want to please them. That goes for all children of God – even adults! Adults also have gotten a few “Didn’t I tell you!” from the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!
