👋 In This Mentoring Session
If your natural bend is to fault-find or read yourself and others to filth, I pray you will- Clarify your thoughts, Organize with scripture, and Prepare with God to realign with His truth for your daily purpose.
We make a mindful transition and create new thought patterns when utilizing God’s Word and embracing our current circumstances. Acknowledge who you’ve become and ask God if you’re abiding, trusting, and loving Him through your mindfulness.

In his article 5 Signs of a Highly Intelligent Person Sean Kernan wrote “The pulsing core of intelligence is the ability to simplify complex problems and solve them.”

A Daily Purpose

Bible Study & Devotional Day 101

Written By Torrie Slaughter

Guiding Scripture: Joshua 3:8 “Tell the priests who carry the ark of the covenant: ‘When you reach the edge of the Jordan’s waters, go and stand in the river.’ ”

🔴Flood Water

If you live near a body of water, you are likely familiar with flooding. Floods can damage homes, take out basements and leave a mess. The cleansing water leaves mud piles, debris, and, depending on what floats to the surface, a horrible stench. In these times, flooding isn’t a celebration; it is a sign of impending catastrophe.

Imagine being led through a place you have not been and God telling you He would be your guide. Let’s place ourselves with the Israelites who wandered through the desert and were finally stepping into the Promised Land. Not to be comfortable but as preparation for their next mission.
God showed His incredible power to a generation who had only heard of their ancestors crossing the Red Sea on dry land. They were about to witness a miraculous wonder.

When rivers flood, all types of things are carried along their surface. Being in the desert, I envision muddy waters. Stepping into this water, one would not be able to see the earth beneath. That’s a faith step- taking obedient action while trusting God!

As you read today’s passages, think about how God commanded the Levites to walk into the Jordan River as it raged through carrying unknown and unseen animals or debris. Consider your actions as you stand at the intersection of obedience and doubt. Is God asking you to trust Him with the next phase of your purpose?

Weekly News, Vol 35

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Do you want to be shouted out on purpose?!!! Interact within the Facebook Group page and you will be mentioned during a podcast episode. Engage with me and other people of purpose through comments, prayer, or sharing content!

Hello People of Purpose!

Season three of Our Given Purpose the Podcast and Talking on Purpose with Torrie, focuses on identifying the emotional pitfalls that keep us from walking in and working on our given purpose.

I hope you will tune in every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to study God’s Word, pray, reflect, and, most importantly, write! Journaling will provide a tangible way to keep track of our progress and thoughts throughout this year. Each Podcast and Internet show offers an opportunity to move beyond our limited human vision into a God-centered uninterrupted view.

On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, Our Given Purpose, the Podcast began the  course of identifying our major emotional blocks.  We start with anger and work our way through arrogance, pride, and fear. Each of these extreme emotions breeds and molds our character.

This year my prayer is that we will all pause before we speak or react. In doing so, we become doers of the Word and not just hearers of it. James 1:19-21 is the foundation of this first 12 -week session
