Daily Bible Study with Purpose

Hebrews 13:2 “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.”

🔴 Welcome to Your House!

Usually, when you are welcoming someone to your house, you offer them a seat. For the first time, I witnessed a different group of people at the White House that stood the entire time. It is possible that seating wasn’t offered before; however, it was quite obvious this time.

Are you given to hospitality?
Do you have a welcoming Spirit that people want to be around you?
How comfortable do you try to make others feel that they are different from you?

People sense being tolerated or if in a hostile environment.

What messages are you sending to those entrusted to you?
Is it love, warmth, genuine interest, and kindness?
Are you willing to listen to other people’s concerns even when you think it does not affect you?
Are you your brother’s keeper?

James 2:16 “And one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?”

As believers made in God’s image, we should want to be more like Him and take on His attributes and His character.

Romans 12:13 “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.”

When Jesus saw that people were hungry, He fed them; when thirsty, He gave them water to drink.

Matthew 25:37 Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?

Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. 1 Peter 4:9

🟥The Message:

The Bitterness of Fear:

Mentoring is a long-term process based on mutual trust and respect.

Can we have a better Mentor, Father, or Counselor than God?

Who better to model our lives after than Christ! It says in Psalm 147:5 Great is our Lord and abundant in power, His understanding is beyond measure.

“Ulterior motives will take time away from cultivating relationships in fertile soil; instead, it will counterfeit love by replacing it with temporary happiness.” -Torrie Slaughter

Meditate plan mentally; consider: to think carefully about something.
Think carefully and consider God’s Word every moment of every day. He does not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control. To be transformed by the renewing of our minds means we must do our work. Clarifying, organizing, and preparing to do our assignment each day takes strategic planning with God.

🟥 Take Action

Recap of Part One:

We opened with acknowledging Fear has experience. It has a resume. And I asked: “What does it say to you?” I wondered if you had hired Fear? We defined mentoring as the long-term process based on mutual trust and respect, recognizing God as the ultimate Mentor, Counselor, and Father. Having Christ as the perfect role model! Great is our Lord.
We concluded that session by reading several scriptures, and I asked you to read with God as the central person as you meditated on His Word.

We can practice reading the Bible with God as the primary person spoken about or the reason behind the events. When we do that, we see a story unfold in a way that produces love, answers questions, and gives us hope that we will see a glorious future in the heavenly realm.

What will you do today to facilitate the renewal of your mind?

How will you take action to implement the things God has purposed for you? Are you aligned with Him or following the world’s standard of success?

Colossians 2:14 By canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross.

Psalm 90:12 “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. “

Daily Bible Study with Purpose

Psalm 117:1-2  Praise the Lord, all you nations; extol him, all you peoples. 2 For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever. Praise the Lord.

🔴 THE MAN IN THE MIDDLE

I have no preconceived notions as to why Psalm 117 is the shortest book in the Bible, having only two verses and is in the middle of the Bible. I’m sure scholars have made their viewpoints and may have come up with conclusions as to why.

The Holy Spirit within me lets me know that because He is the Lord of my life, the giver of all life, the very breath that I inhale and exhale is all His. There is nothing made that was not made by Him. Mercy and kindness are tremendous and are undeserved; only God can give me. The Lord is true, and He is truth. God is the beginning and the end of ALL things. I love to praise You, Lord! I commend you for your holiness! I glorify you for your salvation. I praise you for your power!

Thank you for being the man of God (God incarnate) who died on Calvary in the middle of one who would believe and the other who unfortunately would not. You will be glorified by those who believe and accept your gift of eternal life.
There are so many more things I praise you for, and prayerfully whoever If you have not accepted God, our Lord, and Savior into your heart, I hope you will and start a praise list. ALL Honor and Praise and Glory belong to you, Lord Jesus! Praise The Lord!

Journal Prompts

  • Tell God how much you love him and praise him for who He is. Hold the prayer as a “praise only” prayer.

  • Write out a list of thanks for everyday things and pray the list to God.
  • Write a prayer on behalf of a loved one. Thank God for them and describe your thoughts about this person to God.

🟥The Message:

The Situationship with Fear…

Define your relationship with God, the Creator. Of what are you afraid?

Planning is serious. The enemy is serious about distracting us and causing rebellion. He wants us because he has been defeated. The saying misery loves company is amplified with this truth. The enemy is here to kill, steal, and destroy. Is it time for you to properly arm yourself with the Word of God and combat Satan’s lies with the Truth?

Meditate plan mentally; consider: to think carefully about something.

He does not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control. To be transformed by the renewing of our minds means we must do our work. 🟥 Take Action

Fear: Don’t Do It!, Part 1 the Podcast uses Bible scripture to refocus and realign.

Step One Clarify
Define your relationship with God the Creator. What are you afraid of?

1 John 4:1 “Beloved do not believe every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they are from God for many false prophets have gone out into the world.”

🟡 Test or examine your thoughts.

Step Two Organize

Who or what has your emotional attention?

What will happen if you challenge the lie and ask God for the purpose of your day? Don’t be afraid to stand firm and overcome the trial of people-pleasing.

Psalm 90:12 “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom. “

Step Three Prepare

What if you picked up your cross with the full knowledge that everything wasn’t going to be easy?

Ephesians 6:18 “Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.”
