Meditate plan mentally; consider: to think carefully about something.
Think carefully and consider God’s Word every moment of every day. He does not give us a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control. To be transformed by the renewing of our minds means we must do our work. Clarifying, organizing, and preparing to do our assignment each day takes strategic planning with God.

🟥 Take Action

🟡 Clarify.

Seek God’s wisdom and ask for the truth. Don’t turn away from it or blame someone else.

🟡 Organize.

Take responsibility for your lack of leadership and coordinate with God to resolve the problem with love.

🟡 Prepare.

Pray and follow the Holy Spirit step by step. This is the point to consider the cost of what your life is producing.

Stay Home A 7 Day Devotional by Casey Alexis

In this devotional, we take a tour of what it means to stay home, using the words of Jesus himself from the Gospel of John 14:1-31, as our guide.

JOHN 14:16-18, 26-27 NIV

And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

26 But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

🔴 Day 7 The Spirit of Truth

One of the most significant battles for Christians is staying home in the will of the Father’s house when the world offers a “better” option. In times of uncertainty, it can be tempting to do what the world does because of our humanity. But, Jesus tells us that God does not give as the world gives, so to receive what He gives, He promises the Holy Spirit that is our Counselor.

The gift of the Holy Spirit is for every Believer. The Spirit is our Comforter, our Counselor, our teacher, our reminder, our advocate in prayer, and the vehicle that allows the power of God to flow through us. God provides everything we require and more while we STAY HOME and live out our faith in this troubled world.

Are you filled with the Holy Spirit?

That’s a question that can only be answered by looking through the evidence of your life. What does your faith say about your actions? What do your daily interactions say about the Spirit flowing through you? Are you living a life that exhibits the fruit of the Spirit, love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control?

Dear God,

Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit. I ask that you remove anything in me that refuses the totality of your favor in my life. I want every good and perfect gift that you have assigned to me. Please continue to pour your Spirit into me as I choose to STAY HOME in you and live this life according to your will and not my own. In Jesus name, Amen

Stay Home A 7 Day Devotional by Casey Alexis

In this devotional, we take a tour of what it means to stay home, using the words of Jesus himself from the Gospel of John 14:1-31, as our guide.

“If you love me, you will obey what I command…” JOHN 14:15 NIV

🔴 Day 6 Love is the Only Way Day

Whew! Now, that verse is a big pill to swallow. One of the most challenging things to do when we are in a season of uncertainty is to trust God’s commands and stay put. It’s easy to follow His directions when He instructs us to do things that we enjoy, things that bring us what we want. But when we are in agony or uncomfortable, we tend to forget His words and begin to look for an instant remedy. Most of us don’t realize that God uses those depressing seasons of our lives to do the most incredible work through us.

Let’s look at the evidence when Jesus healed and set people free. The Bible first tells us of their significant discomfort, grief, demon possession, sickness, and disease. The most extraordinary works came out of those situations. Jesus did His best miracles when faced with significant opposition. Jesus Christ reminds us that greatness forms through resistance, discomfort, and uncertainties.

Have you ever regretted giving love to an undeserving person?

If you had a past where you may have worn a clown costume a few times like me, then your answer is yes! I can say I gave my love to some fools with complete transparency while on this journey called life. There were times I went out of my way and left home to provide for their needs. If you’ve been there, you know they didn’t warrant our love because of the evidence they revealed in their actions. But God deserves our obedience because we know of the overwhelming proof that demonstrates how much He loves us.

Dear God,

Please forgive me for all those moments I disobeyed your commands because I fell for the lies of this world. I ask that you continue to remind me of all the evidence that proves how much you deserve more than I could ever give. Please continue to provide me with the grace that I need when I fall short to do what you have commanded. In Jesus name, Amen

Stay Home A 7 Day Devotional by Casey Alexis

In this devotional, we take a tour of what it means to stay home, using the words of Jesus himself from the Gospel of John 14:1-31, as our guide.

“Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” JOHN 14:12-14 NIV

🔴 Day 5 Unlocking Greater Works

When Jesus sat and told His disciples all of these things, He was preparing their hearts for His departure. He knew the challenges they would experience and the significant loss to come. So He promised that if they believed, more wondrous works, they would be able to do. Jesus was no longer visibly with them, but that did not make them powerless. Jesus knew that being in His Father’s House gave Him the ability to respond with great urgency whenever they needed.

Have you ever had an Insider?

Your reply should be a resounding YES! An insider is a person within a group or organization, especially someone with confidential information unavailable to others. Jesus is our Insider! No one else has the AUTHORITY nor access to the type of wisdom He has. He promises that WHOEVER believes in Him will have access and is also able to ask for anything, and it is a given. The question is, do you believe? Do you trust your Insider? Do you have faith that He will respond?

Dear God,

Thank you for the Insider that I have in Jesus. Please help me in the areas of my life where I have unbelief, doubt, worry, and fear. Please give me peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind me in those moments that your thoughts are not my thoughts, and your ways are not my ways. I know that you have a plan for me, and I trust that you will see that plan to completion.

In Jesus name, Amen

Stay Home A 7 Day Devotional by Casey Alexis

In this devotional, we take a tour of what it means to stay home, using the words of Jesus himself from the Gospel of John 14:1-31, as our guide.

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going.” JOHN 14: 2-4 NIV

🔴 Day 1 In My Father’s House

Jesus gives His Disciples an insider secret that John, the writer of this Gospel, shares with us. There are enough rooms for all of us in His Father’s House. And He left to go and prepare a place for us. He also makes a clear and bold statement, “you know the way to the place where I am going.”

Have you ever gotten lost before?

It is the most anxiety-ridden experience one could ever encounter. Most of the time, it is due to missing clear marks in the directions due to distractions, taking our detours, following our path, and worst yet, letting external non-factors guide us. Then let’s not forget all of the emotions that come along with losing sight of the destination. Which almost always ushers in worry, doubt, and fear.

As Christians, there are times we can feel lost, anxious, worried, and fearful in our journey. Most of the time, it occurs when we’ve lost our way, and we need help finding our way back. Jesus makes sure to let us know that we know the way. So, in those moments when we feel lost and unsure, let us refocus, fix our eyes on the destination and find our way back home.

Dear God,

Forgive me for those moments where I have followed my own paths and taken my detours. Those roads have all led to places that did not benefit who you created me to be. By your grace, continue to lead me and direct me back to you. I am ready to come back home and stay home. In Jesus name, Amen
