On Saturday, March 10, 2018, I officially launched, I thought it was just an outlet for me to write faith-based articles to share with others. But, God was laying a foundation. Our Given Purpose has become the center of everything God does through me. I stepped out on faith and followed God’s direction. After some time I was comfortably writing and interacting with many people. Then the pressure increased and the Gospel of Luke Devotional was produced along with a Facebook group. I began to wonder, but not question, what God was doing. I found myself feeling off-balance and out of sorts, it was too much. Just as I got my bearings a YouTube channel and photography page was introduced. My hands were full, my brain was about to explode, I began to worry about clients and traffic to the website researching my analytics to ensure I wasn’t getting in over my head. In the midst of that Mustard Seed Faith Business Saturday was dropped into my spirit. I prayed and asked God if He meant for me to actually do it or was this something I should just write about…you know sow a seed.

The Answer.

Saturday, July 21, 2018, I took another leap of faith and produced the first installment of Mustard Seed Faith Business Saturday. Three faith driven businesses including my own were promoted on Instagram. But, there was a problem, I had just gotten my Instagram layout exactly the way I wanted it, color scheme and all. While I talked through this issue with the Holy Spirit… (I know) I decided that the best way to feature businesses was as a story that would disappear in 24 hours. That way, I would not mess up my work and still do as I was directed. (Are you laughing yet?) I was being disobedient by not fully accepting what God assigned me to do. I wanted to hold on to everything I had done on my own and not allow room for God. As the Holy Spirit revealed my error to me it all started to make sense. I’ll spare you the details but, I am so grateful that this lesson was taught gently and the Lord saw fit to give me grace in my rebellion. Our given purpose is about everyone. It is finding what we as individuals do well and how we add to the body of Christ. We all have special gifts, talents given to us by our Creator, when we allow God to work through the talents He has given us and develop them into His purpose…WOW, we become more effective as His sons and daughters.

Since beginning this journey and following what God has purposed me to do; I have connected with amazing photographers, writers, bloggers, and business owners. Every Saturday I feature three different people with one thing in common, God. They are promoting and pointing towards God in their businesses, unashamed. We all have a different way of doing this and that’s what is so beautiful about it. We don’t have to ascribe to each other’s exact method of worshipping and praising God. The important this is that we all do it. Instead of focusing on what you do alone, allow your eyes to be opened to see what others do as well. It is our given purpose…

God is working my Queen, the fruits of your labor will start to blown in the manner God intended. It’s a blessing to see your growth, and to see our growth together. Keep planting those seeds and let God water as needed. Then we will see the beautiful results of his purpose.
