🗞Elements of Arrogance & Pride, Weekly Devotional and News Vol 2

Hello, Person of Purpose!

This week we aired our first interview of season 4, Empower Your Growth, which was a conversation with Aleese Real & Esha Belle, co-founders of Full-Time Black Woman. In case you were not aware, I am a black woman. Navigating conversations, even with my peers, was/is uncomfortable. The feeling of knowing that I have the correct answer or can solve a problem is terrifying. So arrogance and pride crept in like a bulletproof vest of sorts protecting me if I failed.
The beginning of confidence for me made an ugly turn to Pride because I was afraid of failing. As Aleese Real & Esha Belle so accurately pointed out, we as women are quicker to shrink back even if we have been placed in a position of perceived authority. I needed our Lord, and He provided a support system of emotionally mature individuals who were standing in the arena, not judging my skin color, gender, or age.
Have you identified where your help comes from?

~Torrie

Elements of Arrogance and Pride Lesson Two Week Two

On Tuesday, January 7, 2020, Our Given Purpose, the Podcast we began the course of identifying our major emotional blocks.  We start with anger and work our way through arrogance, pride, and fear. Each of these extreme emotions breeds and molds our character.

This year my prayer is that we will all pause before we speak or react. In doing so, we become doers of the Word and not just hearers of it. James 1:19-21 is the foundation of this first 12 -week session
