🔴 INTENSIVE CARE

Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him

Receiving word that a loved one has been in an accident and is in intensive care is alarming. But right behind that call, you receive notice that a different loved one is also in intensive care because of kidney failure. Add to that the need to get death notifications and cards of condolences out to other family members would be unbearable without God.

I can’t imagine how anyone can continually hear of devastations without God in his or her life. That is what has happened with me in the last two days, and I know that I would not be able to handle any of this without God.

Psalm 9:9 reminds us that the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.

Christ gave us the gift of His Holy Spirit to guide us.

We can turn to His unchanging character for the strength we need. God is the ultimate intensive caregiver. His Truth is absolute, and He is sovereign. The next time you feel overwhelmed by death, disease, or trauma, remember that Christ knows and understands. Go to Him in prayer and let Him care for you.

Let us pray: Jesus, we believe that there is a balm in Gilead. We believe that you are the great physician who has the power to heal your people’s wounds. Lord, we need your guidance and your strength for our frames. Please help us to come forth like a well-watered garden and like a spring whose waters never fail while we give you all the praise and all the glory. Thank you, Jesus. Amen
