🔴 Chase After God!

Bible Reading: Proverbs 4:1-27

Proverbs 4:25ESV  Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you.

Understanding- the power of abstract thought; intellect

Discover – find (something or someone) unexpectedly or in the course of a search.

The Learning Curve:

“The older I get, the more I see a straight path where I want to go. If you’re going to hunt elephants, don’t get off the trail for a rabbit. ”

Rabbit trails are the infamous result of spontaneous thought.  The quest isn’t as well defined, and those who are listening may not be satisfied by the twists and turns. You may notice this more often when listening to someone reminisce about their life. This speech pattern is to be expected over a meal or while sitting on a porch swing drinking cups of tea. However, what if your teacher does this? Imagine asking a question and receiving a long-winded answer that leaves you scratching your head. You may wonder if he knew the answer or was too proud to want to research it.

Proverbs 4:25-27 Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. 26 Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. 27 Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil.

Many of us have taken to the internet to continue education. Being in a classroom surrounded by our peers is a luxury future generations may never experience.

How will you govern your day with only a webcam and unlimited possibilities to ponder?

God knew of this season. He knew the time would come that His created beings would be left to our own devices, literally. Proverbs 4:25-27 reminds us to stay focused no matter the circumstance. We are to keep God as the center for all we do.

King Solomon requested wisdom because he wanted to rule the land with fairness and be a king of justice. His godly wisdom was a sought after commodity in ancient times and serves us well now. Timeless advice and insight aren’t trending matters but practical guidance for all to follow.

Ponder the path you’ve taken. Is it taking you straight to God’s Word, or is it enticing you to mentally wander down rabbit holes?
