Proverbs 18:22 “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the Lord.”

Is pre-marriage counseling a thing of the past?

Ever wonder why there is not a test given before you can get a license to marry?

Sometimes you may want to know why we don’t renew marriage licenses like driver’s licenses! Okay, before you rush to any wild conclusions – I am happily married! However, marriage is hard work, and I appreciate it even more. There is beauty in having a thriving marriage, raising Godly children in God’s Word.

The Books of Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and the Song of Solomon, in my opinion, should be mandatory reading for every couple before the ceremony. It does make for a happy marriage!

If you are married or considering marriage or know of someone engaged, I strongly recommend those three books along with 1 Corinthians 7:1-40. Read as a couple and discuss each other’s opinions on topics such as sexuality, raising children, finances, accountability, and responsibilities for each other. Reading God’s Word and praying together for His guidance and fulfillment in your marriage is influential in your relationship with God and each other.

Let’s pray: Lord, we are so grateful for your written word to guide us in healthy marriages. We can depend on you to lead and keep us from letting the sun go down on our anger. We invite your presence because you bring us together in unity. Please bless our marriages, and all others that are bonded in your love to flourish and become bolder in you. Amen
