🔴 Active Training
Bible Reading: Proverbs 15:32, Proverbs 8:33, Proverbs 8:36, Proverbs 19:8, Proverbs 16:20
Proverbs 15:32 Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.
Proverbs 8:33 Hear instruction and be wise, and do not neglect it.
Proverbs 8:36 But he who fails to find me injures himself; all who hate me love death.
Proverbs 19:8 Whoever gets sense loves his own soul; he who keeps understanding will discover good.
Proverbs 16:20 Whoever gives thought to the word will discover good, and blessed is he who trusts in the Lord.
Instruction– detailed information telling how something should be done, operated, or assembled.
Understanding– the power of abstract thought; intellect
Discover – find (something or someone) unexpectedly or in the course of a search.
Sense-a sane and realistic attitude to situations and problems
Discipline– activity or experience that provides mental or physical training.
Many Biblical scriptures support the necessity of seeking instruction. It is active training we as Christ-followers are expected to do. Discipline to ask God for His wisdom and understanding provides us with incredible insight.
Think about your go-to sources for gaining intelligence. What do you like to study? If you are wondering how you can serve God through your talents, it can be discovered through your passions.
Once we recognize our gifts, we are to train continuously. Being open to new techniques and different strategies sharpens our minds. I can not think of any field that continued education isn’t beneficial. Embrace instruction and don’t take any lesson for granted.
