Proverbs 1:7 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of knowledge, But the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.

🔴 Foolishness

No one wants to be called a fool or foolish, but that is what Solomon calls the person who does not fear the Lord. We often refer to this kind of an individual as “know it all” or having a “dogmatic” opinion about everything. A closed-minded person is not willing to accept advice or counseling from anyone else.

We live when we can Google the answer to almost any question and receive it in seconds. Instantly is the new normal! Microwave. Microsoft. Microtonal. Minimum a tiny limited amount of time is the most we have to give God and each other; yes, we have genuinely become minimalists!

Reading the Book of Proverbs, we learn that God’s faith to honor Him and respect that He is the only one who knows it all. We become wise when we fear God, which is to reverence Him and be in awe of His unmatched power and causes us to obey his Word.

Let us pray: Dear God, we seek your will, and we desire to take on your character. As we live in a close relationship with you and with each other, please help us through your Holy Spirit. Strengthen our moral, spiritual growth, and faith in you so that we can gain more wisdom and understanding as we actively seek to make disciples for your kingdom wisely. Amen
