Genesis 24:12
And he said, “O Lord, God of my master Abraham, please grant me success today and show steadfast love to my master Abraham.
🔴 Successful!
What does success mean to you? Do your thoughts go to wealthy, well-known – famous, owners of large houses/estates, huge businesses, athletes, or actors? What about the stay at home mom who has raised or currently raising children to be respectful, obedient, trustworthy, and honorable moral individuals? What about the working dad, living a Godly life for his children and his wife?
How does God view success? We only need to read God’s Holy Bible to know that God desires us to live good lives in the right relationship with Him. God expects us to be slow to anger and give great thoughtfulness before speaking in honesty. (James 1:19) A good reputation and moral character through spiritual obedience are how God views success!
Everything that we have comes from God. Every gift God has blessed you with should be used for His glory! Whatever you do for others should be done as if you are doing it for God’s approval!
Colossians 3:23 Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people
Let us pray: Heavenly Father, help us to see success in the way that you do. Please help us live purposeful, productive lives that will enable us to live eternally with you as we work diligently and disciplined according to your will. Increase our love, faith, and trust to honor you in all we do. We pray this in Your Name.
