2 Corinthians 8:13-14 “Of course, I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves. I only mean that there should be some equality. 14 Right now, you have plenty and can help those who are in need. Later, they will have plenty and can share with you when you need it. In this way, things will be equal.”
🔴OPEN THE DOOR!
“Just how much of what we have do we need to give to you people?” My response was, “Absolutely nothing! We do not need or want your handouts or hand me downs! All we want is an equal opportunity without biases to the same accesses that “you people” have! That is to say, without prejudice and reservations.
The same door ‘if’ we are allowed to go through would require you to do nothing for my people.”
James Brown, an R& B Funk, Soul, legend sang about it – “Just open up the door, and I’ll get it myself.” For the theologians, “Onward Christian Soldiers by authors Sabine Baring-Gould and Arthur S. Sullivan.”
Now for the evangelicals, let’s go to God’s Word,
Philippians 2:1-5 “Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? 2 Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose. 3 Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. 4 Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. 5 You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had.”
God is the Creator and everything belongs to Him.
As the young people often say, “Don’t get it twisted”! Indeed we must not only be readers of God’s Word but also do what God’s Word says. God is just, He is righteous, and He requires unity.
- Do you believe God’s Word?
- Have you asked God to help you be obedient to His Word? If not, Will you?
- I suppose the best question to ask is; what kind of people are you?
