🔺 The Unseen Hand of God
by Irvine Saint-Vilus
The day has just begun, and I have barely spent enough time with God, meditating on His Word, before I’m sailing off to work and feeling all out of sorts. I get to the job site, and already I’m embroiled in office drama! You know, the kind where your coworker(s) smiles to your face while stabbing you in the back?!
Dealing with the stress of meeting project deadlines and my supervisor calling me out on my slow progress creates more stress. I’m having a horrific day!
Then, out of nowhere, I stumble upon a stout looking woman with a brazen expression on her brown face, the sign of wisdom marked in her keen, owl-shaped eyes. This stranger says to me, “You’re on the right path. God has wonderful plans for you, and He is faithful to accomplish His will in your life. You keep going and keep your head up.”
Like a bird with a mended wing, my downcast soul is lifted off the ground and begins to fly. I press on with a new spring in my step, confident that this woman was a divine messenger sent by God to give me a needed boost.
The truth is that our God does things like this all the time. The question is, “Are we looking for His unseen Hand in our situations?” In Psalm 139:7-12, the psalmist speaks of God’s providence in his life. God knows us inside and out, and He is with us everywhere we go. It is comforting to remember that we are under His sovereign power and protection. That means He sees what we go through in our daily walk with Him, and He gives us what we require to live a victorious life in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
