Matthew 6:19-21

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; 21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

🔴 POOR SPENDING HABITS

How we spend our money and the businesses we spend our money speaks volumes about who and what we value. Of course, I realize the need for groceries and other necessities of life. But given a choice, how likely are we to utilize it?

What would happen if you consider how the establishments and the people you support think of you – would your investment decisions be altered? Do you go out of our way to help Christian (believers/followers of Jesus Christ) based conglomerates? Do you make a point to avoid businesses that you know have low ethics, morals, and divisive practices?

Believers often forget the power we have to influence and make a difference. We must be cautious in our choices in our community and this world. Are we giving to the poor and those less fortunate, or are we greedily keeping everything for ourselves?
We must be even more vigilant in how and what we invest in our future and store up for eternity.

ASK Yourself

  • What was your money story growing up?
  • What does it mean to you to “not have enough” money?
  • What does it mean to “have too much” money?
  • What, to you, it the purpose of money?
