🔴 Didn’t I Tell You!
How many times have I got to tell you that you are not driving this car or any other car before you get your driver’s learning permit? So we think that we can get around that direction by getting the car keys just to let the car get cool or perhaps to let it warm up. We start explaining how we didn’t want Mom or Dad to get into the car in the cold or while it was so hot outside. I’m taking driver’s education classes, but they won’t be over for another month.
I know that I can drive, so what I’m going to do is wash the car, and when I need to do the other side, I’ll back it out of the driveway and turn it around to clean the other side. Big BANG!!!
But Mom, Dad, that truck came out of nowhere, and I believe he was speeding, I don’t think that it’s my fault!
I’m not even going to bother mentioning all the other “Didn’t I Tell You!” directions. I’m sure you have a few of your own. “Didn’t I tell you to take out the trash – clean your room- do your homework before playing a game- and on an on. Didn’t I tell you?!”
Now comes the punishment! Repayment of the damages – seems like currently, I’m working for someone else. Privileges are gone! And the worst is that I’m going to have to wait even longer before I get my permit. Disobedience has consequences, some harsher than others.
What does God say about obedience?
“But I gave them this command: Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Walk in obedience to all I command you, that it may go well with you.” (Jeremiah 7:23).
“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” (Galatians 6:1).
“Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.” (Colossians 3:20).
Trust and obey your parents and God if you want to please them. That goes for all children of God – even adults! Adults also have gotten a few “Didn’t I tell you!” from the Holy Spirit. Amen!!!
