“Whoever ignores instruction despises himself, but he who listens to reproof gains intelligence.” Proverbs 15:32

🔴 Instruction- detailed information telling how something should be done, operated or assembled.

 


The book of Proverbs is a source of great wisdom and instruction. King Solomon’s truthful sayings are simple common sense approaches that stand the test of time. If you are curious, self-examination and reflection is the immediate reaction after reading a chapter or verse of Proverbs. One may point out a neighbor’s errors or be prompted to seek council from the Holy Spirit to navigate life strategically. No matter how one enters into studying, the outcome is usually a mind shift. The fear of missing something useful is a desire humans have. We learned it long ago when the first people rebelled against God. Adam and Eve ignored instruction; they despised the abundance and focused on the scarcity. 

Are you in danger of doing the same? 

As you read Proverbs 15 circle, the behaviors that stand out to you. For example, hot-tempered, glad heart, and ears that listen. While you meditate, ask God to reveal your errors. Acknowledging your shortcomings is a step towards righteous behavior.
