Stay Home A 7 Day Devotional by Casey Alexis
In this devotional, we take a tour of what it means to stay home, using the words of Jesus himself from the Gospel of John 14:1-31, as our guide.
“Very truly, I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.” JOHN 14:12-14 NIV
🔴 Day 5 Unlocking Greater Works
When Jesus sat and told His disciples all of these things, He was preparing their hearts for His departure. He knew the challenges they would experience and the significant loss to come. So He promised that if they believed, more wondrous works, they would be able to do. Jesus was no longer visibly with them, but that did not make them powerless. Jesus knew that being in His Father’s House gave Him the ability to respond with great urgency whenever they needed.
Have you ever had an Insider?
Your reply should be a resounding YES! An insider is a person within a group or organization, especially someone with confidential information unavailable to others. Jesus is our Insider! No one else has the AUTHORITY nor access to the type of wisdom He has. He promises that WHOEVER believes in Him will have access and is also able to ask for anything, and it is a given. The question is, do you believe? Do you trust your Insider? Do you have faith that He will respond?
Dear God,
Thank you for the Insider that I have in Jesus. Please help me in the areas of my life where I have unbelief, doubt, worry, and fear. Please give me peace that surpasses all understanding. Remind me in those moments that your thoughts are not my thoughts, and your ways are not my ways. I know that you have a plan for me, and I trust that you will see that plan to completion.
