Stay Home A 7 Day Devotional by Casey Alexis
In this devotional, we take a tour of what it means to stay home, using the words of Jesus himself from the Gospel of John 14:1-31, as our guide.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well.” JOHN 14:6-7 NIV
🔴 Day 3 The Way
Jesus is our insider; He is our Savior. He is the big brother we all need. Jesus is the type of sibling that provides a way in when we’ve stayed out too late, and Dad has locked all the doors. He is the way, the truth, and the life. Without Him, we genuinely wouldn’t have any access to the Father’s House.
Have you ever been locked out of your home or your car?
It is the most gut-wrenching experience to know that you can’t unlock what is yours. That occurrence is reminiscent of what Adam and Eve experienced after being re-positioned out of the Garden of Eden. They lost access, but thankfully Jesus came to re-establish the connection to God the Father.
When we lose our key, stay out too late, get caught in the wrong, Jesus is our way back home. Follow His trail of love back to the Father’s House. He is our way, He is our way back to truth, Jesus is our way back to life, and He promises to leave on the lights.
Thank you for sending your Son Jesus to be the way back home. Your word says that if I confess with my mouth and believe in my heart that Jesus is Lord, you will save me. Thank you for loving me so much that you would send your very best to deliver me from my worst. Thank You gracious Holy Father. In Jesus Name, Amen
