Thank you for actively participating in these ‘best of’ episodes from our 12-week session focused on arrogance and pride. Through these exclusive mentoring sessions, it is our hope that you are able to articulate your feeling in a productive way. We will be back on Tuesday, September 1, 2020! Elements of Fear is the final installment of our breath of work.
🟥 The Message:
The Arrogance of Self-Hatred, the Podcast. The message of today’s exclusive mentoring session comes to us from Leviticus 19:17 & Ephesians 5:11-15. We use these passages to identify how we commit, control, and challenge our negative self-talk.
Clarify.Organize.Prepare. Commitment is an attitude of curiosity and involvement with life.
Control is not feeling helpless. Self-destructive attitudes divide the body of Christ. Challenge what you think. We could maintain the status quo dwelling in repetitive emotional reactions. OR we could run headfirst into conflict with our eyes open ready to absorb the emotional impact. Embracing stressful experiences increases our ability to control our emotions.
Clarity comes when we acknowledge and recognize our sinful behavior and negative self-talk. Hate is resentment, revenge, malice, an intense dislike. Take 5 minutes to write all of the thoughts that flood your mind. When complete, look for statements with these emotions attached and take them to the Lord. We are to take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness but instead expose them. We reveal them by acknowledging the evil deeds our heart wants to commit. Clarify.Organize.Prepare.
🔺This session began with an overview of 2 Corinthians 12 in Elements of Arrogance and Pride 101 the Podcast. Our focal scripture for the next 12 weeks is 2 Corinthians 12:20. The Apostle Paul helps us because he was obedient to the will of God. Let’s glean from his messages to the people of Corinth today. We do not want our Lord and Savior to return, finding us in the same state of rebellion or wickedness. To be transformed by the renewing of our minds means we must do our work. Clarifying, organizing, and preparing to do our assignment each day takes strategic planning with God.
