What Not To Do

By contributing writer Tiffiany Langston

What should I do? How should I do this? How often do we start here in our exploration of questioning? What if we started with what NOT to do! Today, that’s what we’ll do as we go through Luke 11:14-36

What NOT to do:

  1. DO NOT test Jesus- vs.23 plainly states : “He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.” You want no part of that! Be with Jesus, gather with Jesus.
  2. DO NOT continue forward without filling your life with Jesus- If you rid your life of demonic activity and/or are healed from demonic spirits be warned, they will come back. Vs. 26 tells us that Satan’s minions will come back and bring more demonic spirits with them, leaving the individual worse than before. We must fill and replace the emptiness with the Holy Spirit. Choose daily to yield to His will for your life, so when the demonic shows up, your soul is occupied with the necessary and best protection available.
  3. DO NOT ask Jesus for a sign- It has already been given. Vs.30 -”For as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so also the Son of Man will be to this generation.” Greater than Jonah is here! Read the word, believe it, obey it.
  4. DO NOT neglect to care for the lamp of your body and don’t hide it under a basket. Believers are instructed in vs.35 to “take heed that the light which is in you is not darkness”. Have your eye regularly examined by The Lord. He is faithful to rid you of darkness. And, when this world tempts you to hide your light, remember, the world did not give you the light within and it cannot take it away. Shine bright for God’s glory.
