Don’t Miss Out On the Miracle
by contributing writer Lindsey Capron
When Jesus rose from the grave, He FIRST appeared to the most unlikely person: Mary Magdalene. She was a woman who was once possessed by seven demons.
Mary Magdalene was willing and available to see the miracle of Christ being alive after His horrific and traumatic crucifixion. After her encounter with Christ, she told others who had been with Jesus before His death that He was indeed alive.
Because of the grief and anguish in their hearts of losing their Lord, all who were with Jesus didn’t believe Mary. They were so engulfed in mourning what was they couldn’t see what IS. Jesus was dead but now, HE IS ALIVE.
The good news of the gospel may come from others who may look different than us or with a different walk of life. Sharing the good news of Jesus Christ isn’t only for the neat and tidy pastors in three-piece suits. It’s also for the born-again Christians who used to live worldly lifestyles with tattoos, piercings, and Doc Marten boots. It’s for those willing and available to see and have a personal encounter with Jesus’ miraculous life, death, and resurrection.
We often tend to discredit, discount, or refuse to believe the miracles Jesus performs in our lives because the delivery looks different from what we’re expecting or used to. Also, we find ourselves entangled in the present dire circumstances that we miss out on the miracle because of our unbelief.
Our God is so creative that he can use someone unlikely with a checkered past like Mary Magdalene to deliver the gospel. And though we have much to grieve and deal with in this sin-stained world, God is still working and performing miracles, signs, and wonders daily.
Don’t miss out on the miracles that Jesus is doing. Sometimes our greatest blessings and miracles are hidden in unexpected people and places if we only have the spirit and faith to believe.
