God-consciousness is Wisdom

Contributing Writer: Temi Michael-O

Proverbs 8:27-32 begins with a message from wisdom. Who is this “wisdom”? Jesus is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:30), and he has always been with the Father. When we have our eyes and hearts set on Jesus, we will make wise decisions and be blessed.

Revealed

These scriptures call our attention to the magnificence of God and how he reveals himself through his creation- the clouds, the waters, etc. As a student-mom, I have been studying the concept of mindfulness. I notice that the secular mindfulness theory calls humans to focus on nature and become one with nature for peace. However, wisdom calls our attention to the Creator because it is wisdom to worship the Creator, and we find peace in the Creator of the universe.

Today, take a moment and look at the sky and thank God for the clouds that give us rain to water our plants and regulate our ecosystem. Every time you observe nature, be intentional about glorifying the Creator. The beauty of it all is that God created nature for you. Jesus delights in you and rejoices over you. I hope this truth makes you feel special today.
