Tell Me About Myself, Jesus
by contributing writer Tiffiany Langston
Change.
No longer who I used to be
Because The Lord God did a work in me.
Meeting me in sorrow and pain.
Silencing the commotion all around
His voice was to be heard.
Resurrected from graves of self-reliance and self-pity
Only by the depths of His love.
Numerous warnings I did not heed.
But God in His goodness, continued in pursuit of me.
Then Jesus told me about myself and all the things I had ever did (vs.29)
Desiring to give me water that would quench the longings of this dry, thirsty soul.
What do we lack when God is our portion?
Nothing!
Contentment being found not in having it all or having it all together
But in season and out of season, Jesus being enough.
Are you currently in the noon day heat? Doing your best to avoid attention?
He is there!
Sparking conversation, like an old friend
The One and only, that knows you best and loves you most.
Revealing what no one else may know – the truth of who you are.
Parts of you, you attempt to hide
Fully known to Him!
Always have been and always will be.
Testify to the world around you!
JESUS IS LORD!
Tell of how He recovered your heart, restored your hope
And, tells you about yourself.
