The Master Artist
Contributing Writer: Christina Price
Every morning as I take my kids to school, we make a specific turn that displays the horizon perfectly. Each day we see a different skyline, filled with various hues, cloud formations and absolute beauty. This sight sparks our morning prayer together.
The Lord is a master artist and nature is an element appreciate his workmanship.
His creativity in the natural world that is filled with an array of animals, birds, trees and flowers is far beyond my comprehension. The strength of immovable mountains to powerful oceans to the delicate beauty of a peony or a wildflower thriving in the most uncommon places. There was nothing to small or out of reach for our mighty God and his attention to detail is impeccable.
The greatest part of it all is knowing that we (humans) are part of God’s workmanship.
Ephesians 2:10 tells us “For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.”
How assuring it is to know that of all the things God created, we are his masterpiece in which he planned for!
Dear friends I want to offer you encouragement with a beneficial reminder:
We are not an afterthought; we were premeditated by God to have a good and hopeful future. The characteristics we see in nature such as, the creativity, strength, and beauty coupled with the tenacity to adapt and evolve has been the intention of our loving Father from the beginning of time. We were made in his image and likeness and there is nothing boring about God’s creation.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for making me so wonderfully complex. Thank you for shaping me in your image and creating me with great intent. I pray for guidance to utilize the gifts, talents, and abilities you’ve given me towards your purpose for my life. In Jesus name, amen.
