Useless Excuses
written by: Diana L.W. Coleman
Let’s face it, when we are not willing to work at something, we can find a million excuses to avoid accomplishing anything! How often(for those who before Covid -19 worked outside of the home) are not bothering to get dressed but rather lounge around in sweatpants with no attention to skincare, makeup, or hairstyling? We won’t bother to mention those who have worked from home all along and do the arm test before even taking a shower!
God’s Word tells us that laziness is more dangerous than a prowling lion!
Oh, No, I’m not lazy; I’m just practical! Why bother? No one will see me. Why should I create additional laundry? Mmm, sounds like excuses to me! The less you do then becomes, the less you want to do!
We can’t control the things of this world, but we can control how we respond to it.
With compassion, we wear our facial masks when venturing out for supplies, and we can still look as if we are going somewhere with a purpose! No one gets a second chance to make a first impression. To overcome our laziness, all we need to do is remember we are ambassadors of Christ.
Our goals should be a reflection of God. Our lifestyles show how we honor Him. Our love for God should reflect in every area of our life. If God can’t trust us to be faithful over small things, how can we expect Him to trust us with much?
“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’ Matthew 25:21
