Proverbs 3:1-6 reveals God’s promises and responsibilities for believers. God is good, and he loves us. However, only our response to his love- keeping his commandments (John 14:15) guarantees access to the promises.
If You Love God
To experience peace, prosperity and prolong our days, we must keep God’s commands in our heart. Let’s apply this truth to something practical like our health: If we forget God’s word concerning gluttony (Proverbs 23:19-21) we will overeat or excessively consume foods and the lack of peace in our bodies is one of the consequences.
Used In His Blessings
Another truth is that God cannot direct our path if we do not trust him by being intentional about getting him involved in our daily decision-making process. Also, we will experience unusual favor and our names will be remembered for good (Proverbs 10:7)when we are faithful to God and our actions are guided by the love of God.
Approach God’s Throne
The good news is that we can look to God to help us keep his commandments or instructions and God’s commandments are not burdensome (1 John 5:30). We do not have to lean on our natural strengths. Today or even this moment, you can go boldly to the throne of grace to ask God for grace or empowerment to keep God’s command in your heart and do God’s will (Hebrews 4:16).
