🔴 A Set Apart Servant

Are you living for God or to please humans?

So much in our world bends towards likability. If a person is popular, has a huge following, is wealthy, and attractive, she or he has power. We want to believe that person(s) will positively influence us and make us happy. Well, that’s only temporary. Our hearts will yearn for something more substantial, and our souls will crave the Word of God.

How do we begin or renew the process of being set apart?

Knowing the Words Jesus spoke to His adversary, the Devil, is a start. In Luke 4:4, Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone.’

When the enemy wants to tempt us to rebel against our Lord for temporary pleasure, we can stand firm. Jesus was in the wilderness for 40 days without food or water. When he was at His ‘weakest,’ the enemy struck. What an incredible lesson for us to learn. If we feel signaled out or experience great despair within our role, we can:

  1. Pray to God for spiritual nourishment. Luke 4:4
  2. Praise God and worship Him in good and bad times. Luke 4:8
  3. Remember God’s promise and His command for us. Do not test Him. Luke 4:12

If you feel like the world is carrying you through some stuff, take a closer look at this passage.(Luke 4:1-12)

  1. The Devil, instead of bringing food, commanded that Jesus turn stones into bread.
  2. The enemy will partner with you only if he can benefit from it.
  3. The adversary will take from you rather than give to you.
  4. He will put you in harm’s way physically, mentally, and spiritually.
  5. Satan’s timing is deceptive, which creates laziness as we “wait” for things to work themselves out.

Ephesians 5:15NIV, Be very careful, then, how you live–not as unwise but as wise.

Our wisdom comes from the Lord. If we claim to be His disciples, we are expected to be obedient. Yahweh hears the cries of those who are crumbling under the pressure of Satan’s worldly standards. Trying to please every human in every situation is exhausting. Heed the call of the Lord and let Him order your steps. No matter how hungry, unappreciated, or under-valued you may feel, remember Christ endured unimaginable pain and anguish so that you would have the right to be called His children.

We choose how to appreciate the price Christ paid on the cross.

Exodus 23:13NLT “Pay close attention to all my instructions. You must not call on the name of any other gods. Do not even speak their names.”

We are not to worship the idols of this world- fame, fortune, or celebrity status. Bowing down to lesser gods will defile our Christian testimony. Walk and live in the commandment of Christ: to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength and love your neighbor as yourself.

God loves you! He loves us!

He will minister to our every need! We possess a powerful treasure within His kingdom, and it is something the adversary wants to kill, steal, and destroy. Guard your investment and increase the gift God has given you.
