A Daily Purpose

Bible Study & Devotional 360

Guiding Scripture: Proverbs 30:32, “If you have been a fool by being proud or plotting evil, cover your mouth in shame.”

Final Remarks

By contributing writer: Joshua Slaughter

Today concludes my writing for A Daily Purpose Bible Study & Devotional. It was a rather enjoyable experience, and I appreciated interacting with you all. Thank you for walking this journey with me and hundreds of others.

Now then, let’s head into our guiding scripture. This verse isn’t telling you you aren’t allowed to be proud. You can appreciate your accomplishments. This verse says not to boast or let it get to your head. That’s what it means to be a fool. The glory belongs to God first and foremost. Then we can get a portion of it. It shouldn’t be the other way around.

These days it can be easy to get sucked into worldly values. However, God can help us discern them. We’re going to be here for an undetermined amount of time. What we do with it is up to us. The next part of Proverbs 30:32 is more self-explanatory. My general rule is if you think it might be mean-spirited or evil, it’s probably not good. At the same time, negativity exists within us; it doesn’t need to harm our brothers and sisters.

Let’s be honest here. It’s been a unique and rough couple of years for us. Things are looking up; however, things can change quickly. The world is in an unpredictable state. Does it seem like things won’t return to the normalcy we once knew? As we return to the status quo, let’s be mindful of our thoughts, words, and actions. They do impact how we feel and the lives we lead.

That concludes my final writing for A Daily Purpose Bible Study & Devotional this year. I appreciate Our Given Purpose for welcoming me with open arms, and thank you, readers, for the constant encouragement. I do hope to see you again in the coming days. Let’s go into prayer.

Dear God, Thank you for allowing me on this journey. It’s been one of the trials, but you’ve helped me overcome each obstacle. Thank you for helping me draw nearer to you each day. Thank you. Amen.
