Divine Business Tips
By Contributing writer Lindsey Capron
Emerging entrepreneurs are always looking for the best tips, advice, and secrets on how to build and maintain a successful business. Whether it’s TV, magazines, or social media, we hang on every word of the world’s mega-successful and business-savvy men and women to show us the path to success because they’ve done the work to get there.
Some advice only works for the time and era they’re in, and some will provide age-old philosophies with different variations that keep them successful. And while some tips, advice, and secrets are accurate and brilliant, some may not exactly work for all business builders.
The Bible, especially the book of Proverbs, has quite a bit of say about building and maintaining a business with integrity and the success that comes along with it.
These tips, advice, and secrets are 100% proven no matter what time or season we’re in.
In today’s key scripture, we get some timeless advice for both starting and seasoned entrepreneurs on why it’s essential to be involved and know the state of our business affairs.
Proverbs 27:23-27 “Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, and look well to your herds; for riches are not forever, nor does the crown endure to every generation. The hay appears, and the tender grass shows itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered. The lambs are for your clothing, and the goats are the price of the field. You will have goats’ milk enough for your food, for the food of your household, and for the maintenance of your maidens.”
Taking inventory of what’s done and how it’s being done isn’t just for the business’s benefit but also for ourselves as entrepreneurs. When we know the ins and outs of what’s happening in our industry, there’s less chance for corruption, missing or mishandled transactions, and illegal loopholes. Also, the riches we make today, this quarter, or even this year will not sustain us forever.
However, the money that we make for our business should not only go into building and furthering our business but also take care of our needs at home. Our basic needs will be met sufficiently by giving food, clothing, and shelter for us and our families and to take care of our employees adequately (if we’re blessed to have them).
When we make a point to take care and manage our business affairs, our business affairs will take care of us and all those who are connected to us.
This is a tried and true secret, tip, and advice to success.
God, the CEO of all CEOs, has the best tips, secrets, and advice for anyone in business. His word is provided for us to achieve great success with his righteousness for this time and all the time. The world’s blueprint on what entrepreneurial success changes often with compromise. May we as entrepreneurs hold on tightly to God’s unchanging, true, and holy principals to experience the very best while leading and teaching others the key to righteous success.
