Bible Study & Devotional Day 300
Guiding Scripture: Titus 2:1-2, “As for you, Titus, promote the kind of living that reflects wholesome teaching. 2 Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience.”
Consistent Truth
written by: Joshua Slaughter
At the beginning of Titus 2, the words of wholesome teaching are said. I interpret it to mean to share God continually and to bring out the best version of ourselves. Now there are always things to do to improve our “wholesome teaching.”
Here are a few of my suggestions:
- Read the bible every day.
- Engulf yourself in God’s word and strive to learn something new each day.
- Surround yourself with those that you respect and vice versa.
Our days are but a handbreadth; God commands us to spend our time wisely (Psalm 90:12). It’s easier said than done; however, we won’t get ourselves in time-wasting situations by using discernment. If we first go to God and ask Him for His guidance before starting our tasks, we can glorify God through our actions.
Let’s discuss sound faith:
It is possible to be completely confident in God. Your faith is set in stone in a sense. You’ve achieved what God wanted you to. But what happens when you’re on the road to success, and then something terrible occurs? Your faith may waver, but instead of acting irrationally, take up the issue with God. The trials teach and mold us. God lifts the burden because He is always listening; He never leaves and never forsakes His children (Hebrews 13:5).
Prayer: Dear Lord, allow us to grow in you. We know our faith falters but thank you for being a patient God. Thank you for giving us the time to better ourselves in you. Allow the rest of our days to be faithful to your name. Amen.
