Bible Study & Devotional Day 285
Guiding Scripture: 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 ‘Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.’
Without Ceasing

Rejoice Always.
Pray Continually.
Give Thanks.
It is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
The Day of the Lord is near, but no one but the Father knows the exact time. The Apostle Paul spoke to the Thessalonians’ expectational desires by warning them of constant speculation.
I will admit I like schedules and rarely enjoy surprises. However, God showed me the difference between divine expectation and worldly distractions. We must be careful how we walk because the days are evil (Ephesians 5:15-16). The Holy Spirit helped me control bitterness when others took my time for granted by reminding me to remain humble.
Rejoice, pray, and thank God in all ways for His provisions and guidance. He will never lead you astray. We can trust Him with our time, schedule, and activities. If you haven’t prayed over conversations before entering into a dialogue or started your day with gratitude, I hope you will start.
We can be supportive, caring, comforters of those who require our assistance and esteem one another with love. Paul points out that we should not neglect or misuse the gifts of the Holy Spirit. As Christ-followers, we are charged with testing everything and not gullibly following every doctrine or person if their theology isn’t true. We can avoid evil if we pray, ask questions, and follow God’s direction.
Prayer: Father, help us to be influenced by you in thought, deed, and practice. Amen.
