Bible Study & Devotional (Day 266)
Guiding Passage: Psalms 67 1-7, May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us 2 so that your ways may be known on earth, your salvation among all nations. 3 May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. 4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples with equity and guide the nations of the earth. 5 May the peoples praise you, God; may all the peoples praise you. 6 The land yields its harvest; God, our God, blesses us. 7 May God bless us still, so that all the ends of the earth will fear him.
Bless the Lord
Contributing Writer: Sheila Arrington
Let us take this day of devotion and prepare to proclaim God’s blessings to everyone we meet, our neighbors, and those in cities, states, and nations. That God is gracious to us! God shines His blessings on the good, the bad, and the not-so-nice.
Because He is Good, and He alone knows the beginning to end. When those cried out that the wheat and the tares are growing up together, our Lord said let them grow, lest we do away with what is meant to be saved.
That is also the blessing of the Lord!
The Lord blesses us that His name might be made famous, that the whole earth might know of His salvation, and that all creation might recognize that it is to Him and Him alone that their praise and worship is due.
Not only are we the pinnacle of God’s creation, but we are also the crowning act of God’s work among His creation. The salvation bought for us in Christ was an act of God’s mercy to an undeserving people. Nothing compares to the love of God for His people, and nothing demonstrates God’s love for us than the giving of the Son for our sin.
Let’s praise Him because He is God and watches and rules His universe.
Let us pray that we won’t bottle up God’s blessings but proclaim them! The world might know the mighty works of the Lord, and He might be gracious to use our testimony to bring many to a knowledge of salvation in Christ.
Dear God, May we be a blessing to one another and glorify your name. Amen.
