Nothing to Prove

written by: Tiffiany Langston

‘In Christ’ holds so much promise, assurance, and confidence. We must find our confidence ‘in Christ’ because otherwise, our why becomes more about “we” than He. It’s a slippery slope to try and rebuild what God seeks to destroy, yet we often do just that. We are meant to die to ourselves and live for God. God desires to destroy the chains of sin and destruction in our lives that keep us bound. But, we will choose to act like we have something to prove and our pride and egos get in the way of what God gently directs.

The law is based on works, but God’s grace is based on faith. While the law shows us the way to Christ, guards us, and has its place, the grace of God is unmerited. The law can tell you steps to take and help you along your journey, but it cannot do like God. Others may know better than you – they may have more experience and “know-how”, but don’t get it twisted! Our God knows best, and no one knows better than Him. Stand firm in obedience to what He calls you to do and the direction He sets for your life.

Being mindful of God’s grace keeps us living for Him. Remember, there is nothing you or I have done or could do to earn salvation. It is full and free. God has made every provision for us to walk in the freedom he offers us as his children. Walk in faith. Have grace and patience with yourself and others. Remember, you have nothing to prove. Jesus did it all! Praise Him, Thank Him and allow him to teach you more and more every day how to receive His love.
