Bible Study & Devotional (Day 238)
Guiding Scripture: 2 Corinthians 1:4-5, He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with his comfort through Christ.
The True Comforter
By contributing writer: Joshua Slaughter
Quite often, I find myself thinking about where to go next. However, it’s an open question because I something called free will. And God has bestowed it upon us.
And that is incredible and terrifying as the possibilities seem endless.
We all have responsibilities, and while I’m moving into adulthood, I try to put forth my best effort. So when I fail, I am comforted by God.
He is always listening and will not turn away from sincere requests.
There are many things I can do better in life, and I’m the first to admit it.
Yet, I am flawed. So if I can offer any encouragement, it is to not remain complacent in your faults. God is our guide and ever-present help in trouble. When you feel like you fall short of His glory, it is ok to go to Him in prayer.
Prayer: Dear God, thank you for being omnipresent. You’re always there, listening to our qualms and giving us solutions in your own special way. Thank you for being a patient God.
