Guiding Scripture: Proverbs 21:11 ‘When a mocker is punished, the simple gain wisdom; by paying attention to the wise they get knowledge. ‘
Written by: Torrie Slaughter
Life teaches us many lessons. If we are paying attention, we will learn the micro-movements of our day and how they impact our behavior. Why is that important? Because it is in the details of how we treat ourselves and others that our minds train to repeat.
For example, if we receive Christ into our hearts, it is challenging to remain oblivious. (2 Corinthians 5:17) Jesus imprints His character onto our hearts, and we become new creators.
Proverbs 21:11 reminds us to gain wisdom by intentionally seeking instruction. It is a godly attribute to learn from those who are knowledgeable.
God, through His Holy Spirit, will help us discern fact from fiction. We need God.
As you read today’s passages, think about those who keep you from being authentic and those who encourage your light to shine. It’s one thing to remain teachable; it is another to showcase what you’ve learned. Make sure you give God the glory for everything He blesses you to pass along.
Prayer: Lord, in you, our hearts rejoice, and we trust in your Holy Name. Please allow your unfailing love to follow us as we place our hope in You. Amen
