🔴 God’s Goodness
Contributing Writer: Broderick Slaughter
Have you ever questioned the goodness of God?
I know I’ve questioned His goodness when experiencing pain or uncertainty. The doubt that God is listening or if He can truly help.
Most times, the problem is that we are the ones not listening. God will speak and show us things all the time, but we are so stuck on what we want to see and what we want to hear that we miss the blessing of God’s presence.
Psalms 19 shows how David realizes God’s presence around him, the goodness of mercy, and the magnificent wonders of the world.
Psalm 19:1 states, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.”
Isn’t that what we are trying to do, being loud, wanting to be heard, but the heavens are just there, knowing God is God and the most wonderful God created it.
We can just look up and be in awe of what God has created. It says so much about what kind of God we serve. God has put everything in place. His commandments are a joy to the heart, waiting to be followed.
David is showing us that we are human, and we will fall short of the glory of God, but the key is not to remain down after we fall; it is asking God for forgiveness and making us clean again, and learning from our past mistakes and moving forward with purpose to serve the Lord.
