Guiding Scripture:Romans 1:18, ‘The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,”

🔴A Suppressed Truth

The Greek concordance defines truth as spoken- the truth is the basis of an idea, reality, sincerity, divine, and revealed to man. The truth of God is straightforwardness. And yet, we may wonder how that fits into our daily lives?

How do we honor God with truth in the moral sphere?

In this letter to the Romans, the Apostle Paul affirms his authority and God’s salvific work through Jesus Christ. When we are free in Christ and acknowledge our sinful nature, we are convicted to evaluate our behaviors.

Immorality is evil, and God will give people over to their sin, allowing them to decline morally. If we dig deeper and take personal inventory, we may find some decay within our character. Suppose one suppresses the truth about how God is using others to bless us? Or taking ideas and not recognizing the author is just a couple of ways we allow evil practices to seep into our lives.

You may think these are trivial things but, I assure you they are not.

Many Christian testimonies are hurt and relationships destroyed when one wants to become the almighty ‘I.’ You’ve heard it and perhaps said it to take ownership. – “I did it.” or “I solved the problem.” The Bible teaches in Proverbs 11:12, “When pride comes, then comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.”

If we acknowledge God as our sovereign Creator and bear His image, we honor Him with humility.

The next time you have the opportunity to thank God for giving the answer or His servant for providing a solution, be honest. It is a character trait of Jesus Christ our Lord. Do small things with great love and remember Luke 16:10, “One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”

Prayer: Heavenly Father, help us to be more like Jesus. No matter how small it may seem, we know it makes a big difference and speaks to the truth of who You are. Let us be living stones and testify to Your greatness without being selfishly ambitious. We want to glorify You in all situations that others may see our servant attitude. Lead us to Your Truth, and let us not deny even the least likely to proclaim Your Gospel. Amen
