Bible Study & Devotional (Day 191)
Guiding Scripture: Proverbs 18:23-24 (KJV) The poor useth intreaties, but the rich answereth roughly. A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
🔴 Reflections Proverbs 18:23-24
Contributing Writer: Temi Michael-O
It is harder for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 19:24) because riches can make people self-reliant and proud. Wealth can make one arrogant and make one value riches above humans. When we value riches more than humans, we will treat others harshly. However, when we are poor in spirit, we humble ourselves before God and depend on him (Matthew 5:3). When we are poor in spirit, our earthly possessions do not own us, and we seek God’s will above all else.
Do you need a friend?
Be friendly and treat everyone equally despite their socio-economic status. Be the kind of friend you want others to be to you. Care not whether people will repay good with evil. Stay positive. Pray for your friends and ask God to connect you with the right friends in every season.
