We’ve completed the book of Kings and continue the journey to find out more. The Bible provides interesting insights for us, and we can make changes to reduce our risk of repeating sinful practices. Discovering the genetic background and researching the lifestyle of previous generations provides vital information.
In the book of Kings, the statement ‘he did what was evil in the sight of the Lord’ was directly related to his culture? The environment played a central role, and that is relevant to us now.
What runs in your family?
Our activities, mindsets, fears, and passions develop from the tightly knit ecosystem we reside in, known as family conditions. Yes, we have choices to be brave and break the cycle of evil practices; however, that takes the strength of the Lord.
As you read through the genealogies of 1 Chronicles 1 and 2, I pray you are enlightened. There is much knowledge to gain from exploring the family garden beds of our ancestors. When God created man and woman, we became His image-bearers.
To improve our Christ-like thinking, we must get to know and run after Jesus. Be curious and investigate the practices both spiritually and physically in your family. Is it time to stop what’s running your family’s theology?
Prayer: Lord, thank you for increasing my awareness. May all my deeds be pleasing to you. Please help me to walk Your path and provide light to those around me. I belong to you; please give me the strength to break the chains of idolatry, procrastination, laziness, and envy. Abba Father, I choose to honor your ways and acknowledge you make my path straight.
