Guiding Scripture:2 Kings 20:5 ‘”Go back and tell Hezekiah, the ruler of my people, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David, says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; I will heal you. On the third day from now, you will go up to the temple of the Lord. ‘
🔴Sick to Death

We learn several critical lessons in 2 Kings 20. I want to point out two:
- The warning Hezekiah received from Isaiah to ‘get his house in order’ did not mean he could beseech the Lord.
- Do not reveal or boast about the treasures given by God.
Illness does not have the final say. We can view illness as Hezekiah did and repent. Seeking the Lord and crying out to Him may have been the purpose. To get one to focus on the work of the Lord.
Prostrate Before the Lord…
About five years ago, I had a crippling pain that would not go away. I tried many remedies. Finally, at my wit’s end, I went to the ER. The doctors ran several tests but could not locate the source of my discomfort. On the day of my release, I took a long shower, ate lunch, and laid back down in the hospital bed. The doctor readmitted me. I had not sought the Lord for His healing touch. I was too busy trying to complete tasks that I resisted surrendering and submitting myself to God first.
I Repented
Just because I was doing the Lord’s work did not excuse me from praying and keeping my focus on my relationship with Christ. That lesson prepared me for now! Media ministry is challenging, and if I start to drift away from my purpose, I unknowingly destroy the progress.
Forced Out
Sickness has a way of reminding us that we can sit on the sidelines either temporarily or permanently. We have a choice- experience the miraculous healing of our Lord and Savior or sleep with our ancestors. I’m not saying all illnesses are a result of sin but, if you know you’ve behaved in error, try humbling yourself before God.
Prayer: Lord, I know I don’t get it right all the time and a sinner saved by Your grace. Please help me to develop in wisdom and discernment so that I can keep Your covenant. I want to abide in You gracious Abba Father. Increase my faith that I may trust in you more. Amen
