A Daily Purpose
Bible Study & Devotional Day 158

Read Today’s Passages (June 7, 2022)

Guiding Scripture: Acts 5:38-39, 38 Therefore, in the present case, I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail.39 But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God.”

🔴 Purpose Driven

Written By Reason A. Chandler

There are many reasons people decide to do whatever they do in life. When the decision to disobey authority or written rules is made, there has to be a purpose for making such a decision. Because most people know there are consequences for making this decision. When the purpose outweighs the consequences, we must look at the purpose that drives people to do such a thing, knowing what the effects are.

We can learn from this story of Peter’s decision to teach and talk about what happened to Jesus and what will happen when you decide to follow Him. When the purpose is a Kingdom solution that, in time, will transform the society we live in. The consequences become of no effect on changing the person’s mind who decides to be a follower of Jesus. When God is the purpose-driven force behind our choices, the only consequence that concerns us is the responsibility we have in the covenant relationship that requires us to Love the Lord our God with our whole heart, mind, and soul, and our neighbor as our self.

What is it that drives you?

It calls us to choose to stop what we are doing or continue doing what God has called us to do. The consequences are the sacrifices we are equipped to make because if God is for us, Who can be against us. As God continues to add to the church, we must reflect on God’s Purpose as the driving force of our life.
