Guiding Scripture:

Proverbs 5:1-5

My son, pay attention to my wisdom,

turn your ear to my words of insight,

2 that you may maintain discretion

and your lips may preserve knowledge.

3 For the lips of the adulterous woman drip honey,

and her speech is smoother than oil;

4 but in the end she is bitter as gall,

sharp as a double-edged sword.

5 Her feet go down to death;

her steps lead straight to the grave.

6 She gives no thought to the way of life;

her paths wander aimlessly, but she does not know it

🔴 Wisdom In Truth

Contributing Writer: Broderick Slaughter

These Proverbs tell us to pay close attention to what is happening. To be aware of the actions of others and also the actions of ourselves. We can feel the nurturing tone Solomon uses to fore-warn us of the transgressions of the world. He wants to prepare us for the struggle we all must go through.

God wants all to listen to His words and live by them. Our job as servants is to show His people that He is the way, truth, and life. God wants to save us because He already knows what we fight.

The enemy is determined to snatch God’s people from him. We have to be on guard at all times and not forget, the scripture says in 1 Chronicles 28:20,

‘Then David continued, “Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord God, my God is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. He will see to it that all the work related to the Temple of the Lord is finished correctly.”

Our brothers and sisters live a purposeful life, do not let the temptations of the world lead you down a dark path, let God’s light shine through you, and let others see that light in you.
