Bible Study & Devotional (Day 21)

Read Today’s Passages (January 21, 2022)

Guiding Scripture: Proverbs 4:7-10,  “The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding. Cherish her, and she will exalt you; embrace her, and she will honor you. She will give you a garland to grace your head and present you with a glorious crown.” 10 Listen, my son, accept what I say, and the years of your life will be many.”

How can you get wisdom if discernment, skill, and knowledge is not what you desire? How can it be obtained if we simply want to do as we please and live out our own understanding versus God’s advancements? God’s foresight is always supreme and yet we prefer inferior lives. Why is that true?

Well, Solomon says it plainly.

It’ll cost you all that you have. Your life has to be restructured so the price is your actions, reactions, thoughts, how you process information, submission to God and your life. Understanding comes from life experiences, but also examining those experiences to have gained. If you don’t examine and become crafty in your ways to dissect God’s instructions, what will come of you in reality?

 Investigate

Examination must take place so the moment of taking wisdom by her steadfastness is obtainable. Imagine lifting and building discernment. Holding it dear so it establishes your walk, plans and decisions.

While knowledge is heavy and burdensome, it gives us the reverence needed to not go beyond God in pride. It’s a gift that helps you give a full 360° to all situations but frees us from the burden of what’s to come, because it’s in God’s light hand.

Protector

Consequently, God’s hand places a shield of protection and honor that’s attached to you. So you can live in the call of wisdom; not like a literal king and queen but one of a glow and stance that delivers beyond the normal conditions of those around you.

 Ability

Wisdom laughs at disaster, helplessness, and calamity, because it knows the rainbow and sunshine that will soon be released. It allows us to move beyond our current state because discernment is fluid no matter the circumstance. And only if you accept and take hold of this invitation will you possess the power to live a long life. Why? Because your judgment guided you throughout twist, turns, potholes, valleys and mountains.

Will you:

  • answer the call of insight over every situation in your life?
  • skillfully craft your words the next time you speak?
  • discern your own speech towards yourself and God?

Whatever you decide, the gift is waiting.

In order to obtain wisdom, you have to desire a new level of understanding. Wisdom won’t fall on your lap. You have to be conscious of its power to surrender to her authority. Leave your own understanding today because TOMORROW IS TOO LATE TO BE GREAT!
